What we expect from our 2012 Breeding
Before we get into too many details and pictures I would like to thank Carol
Holman and her husband Simon for allowing me to breed Emmie to Blaze as
well as allowing me to have this wonderful litter. They have the litter in their
home where they are raising them to my criteria. Lucky for me they only live
10 minutes away from me so I get to visit almost daily. Although I do miss not
raising them myself cant say I will be missing the constant clean up process
though.
The pups litter will be registered with UKC as well as ESC all pups will also be
registered individually with ESC. They will also be vet checked and at least 1st
shots will be given prior to them leaving.

Birth and days 1-3
Week 1
Not much to report on yet except they are all healthy and growing at a steady rate. Mom is being a super mom and extremely protective of her litter.
Week 2
Eyes are now open they have been growing like weeds. Today they all got up and walked albeit not so steady
Week 3 Day 17
Wow they've changed in a couple of days becoming more vocal and moving around pretty good. Even had a a few attempts at play with siblings.
Our couple has been Bred both with AI and natural. Pups were born on Sept
18th all healthy and a good size. .. I'm very pleased with Emmie she is doing
great for a 1st time Mom. Whelped the first 2 pups on her own and the rest
were easy peasy. She was a trooper and calm and cool as a cucumber. I am
so looking forward to this long awaited litter. We should have a very nice
litter with a very sound body and mind. With all the typical English
Shepherd traits. I'm hoping to have a nice mix of between Mom's drive and
enthusiasm complemented by Dad's more laid back easy going attitude, he's a
true English Shadow who takes his jobs seriously.
Both parents have been around livestock sporadically. Emmie lives on 5
acres with horses. She has had limited experience with livestock but has
shown a keen interest to herd. Blaze has done limited herding he likes to
gather and drive. He loves the work but as I haven't had the time to put
into herding he's only had a few sessions. Both dogs do agility as well as
Canine Nosework (scent work on specific odors). They both enjoy both
sports immensely. This litter should be a biddable sound group of puppies
with drive and the true English Shepherd personality.
Week 3
Puppies had their first road trip into Vancouver today about an hours drive to
the offices of Stevens & Holman (lawyers office) to visit with Emmie's Dad's
employees. Lots of aww's could be heard all around the office. Most of the
employees held and cuddled with the pups. All were eager to wash hands prior
too and after handling. Puppies were well behaved, in the car and in the office.
Carol was surprised at how quiet the ride was both in and out of Vancouver.
What good puppies. More pics to be posted tomorrow.
4 WEEKS Oct 16 2012
Wow they are growing fast interacting with each other and people too. They've
finally been allowed a little access to Uncle Levin he's a Border Collie rescue
that Carol acquired about 7 months ago. Emmie wouldn't allow him near until
this last week now she's allowing him some babysitting chores :-) to give Mom a
break. She's not so keen on feeding now as those little sharp teeth have come in
with a vengeance she's not so accommodating. They are now getting feeds of
pablum and soon a pablum soft dog food mix. Mom feeds occasionally when
the mood suits her.
They got their first trip outside on the 16th of October to play in the yard. There
was a short break in the rain, the sun came out it was very breezy so we took
the opportunity to let them get a taste of the great outdoors. At first a little
scary, especially with all those scents flying around them along with leaves, lots
of different sounds smells and textures for them to check out. Pleased to say
after initial hesitation it took only seconds to start to explore their next big
adventure. I am so happy with this litter not one was scared or worried they all
stepped out and explored with enthusiasm. I can honestly say there isn't a pup
in this litter I wouldn't take for my own. If I could have another I would take
one in a minute, it would just be a very hard time choosing which one they all
have the temperament I like, so far. They change every day and develop so
much in such a short period of time if you blink you miss something. We have
many more adventures planned for this group I hope you follow along with us.
In the meantime enjoy the pics and video we put up.

Sorry for the fuzzy start just learning how to use the movie part of my camera.. I did figure it out afterwards
Week 5 my how we have grown!
6 1/2 WEEKS
They are really showing their personalities now and are so much fun to watch
with all the antics that goes on with them. They are curious getting into
everything. Chewing, tugging, playing. They have learnt how to go both up and
down stairs with ease. They are avid explorers and enjoy being with people and
the great outdoors. There is not a pup in this litter that I wouldn't want to have.
They are a well rounded group no real dominant pup at least not yet.
I had planned to have all my contracts out to people but circumstances beyond
my control happened on Monday, Oct 29th. My mother had a massive heart
attack and I've had to deal with that entirely this week. She's had some set
backs but is hopefully now on the road to recovery. Today Nov 2 was the first
day I actually felt its okay to leave her. So first thing I did was head to the pups
and take some pics of course.
Enjoy the pictures.

8 WEEKS
I missed a few weeks of photos as well as updates I'm so upset about that. It
couldn't be helped unfortunately as I had to be there for my Mom. Let me say I
really hate hospitals. I must say though the staff were wonderful very helpful
and attentive to my Mom's every need. She's on the road to recovery at home
now and moving around. All is good.
The pups have grown so much it seems. They are truly the best litter we have
had in my opinion I sure wish I was able to keep one or two but that's not to be.
The pups will be going to some wonderful families across North America I'm
excited for them all.
I took some pics and video today which I'm posting below. You can also see
them on my Facebook where I've tagged some of the pups for the new families
(Bev Johnson) Enjoy!
